Several days ago I posted several questions to the blog here at yellow-jersey.net asking subscribers why they love the tour. Ruthann from Eden Prairie Minnesota shares some of her fondest memories of the tour:
1) How did you get into the Tour de France?
Watching it on OLN.
2) What is your fondest memory of the Tour de France?
Watching Lance Armstrong grinding up Luz Ardiden in the 2003 TdF after he’d snagged his handlebars on a fan’s musette.
3) Who is your favorite rider past or present?
I can pick only one????? Jens Voigt
4) And of course, who will win this years Tour de France?

Ruth, you sure know how to pick’em! Over the years to coverage on OLN has gotten better and better! Last year I was so into it that by the second week in July I found myself at my local Trek dealer and out of $2,200 (money that was well spent I might add). Their is no doubt that the 2003 Tour was the most exciting tours in recent years, that Tour was fun for me and my wife by the climb up Luz Ardiden my wife was a full fledged tour junky and screaming at the top of her lungs (it was awesome)! Lance has given us all lots of fond memories, however this year I am ready for a new chapter.
Something about Jens al right, that guy is so powerful! About Jan, I think I have decided I am hoping he wins. For so long he has been in the shadows, I hope this year he wins and then retires. Would be a great way for him to end things. However I am not sure he will be able to pull it off, off course I will always cheers for the Americans!
