Valverde Takes One On Belgium Soil And Wins Flech Wallonne

Alejandro Valverde takes his first win on Belgium soil to win one of the last spring classics of the season, Flech Wallonne. The Caisse D’Epargne-Illes Balears rider attacked the peleton on the last climb of the race (Mur de Huy) to claim victory. Valverde mentioned to press afterward that he timed his attack just perfectly and it paid off with the win. Further he mentioned how he suffered like a dog in last Sundays Amstel Gold race feeling the course was a bit long for him.
