Saturdays stage 5 of the Tour de Romandie was another exciting event, Alejando Valverde again showed the rest of the peleton why you don’t take the Spanish rider to the line as he easily took the stage victory. Winning todays stage also moved Valverde closer to Alberto Contador, as I post this again results are not posted to the web yet. I am guessing that Contador leads by about 10 seconds or just a few (Valverde won a time bonus today as the race winner – could be 10 to 20 seconds total).
Todays stage featured a lot of climbing and the Spanish teams were really attacking each other in a big way. Tomorrow the Tour finishes of with a 20k time trial. Then we get a break for the week and the Giro starts Saturday!
