U.S. Rider David Zabriskie Selected For Tour de France

Salt Lake City’s David Zabriskie finally got the word he has waited two years for on Sunday, when he was named to Team CSC’s Tour de France team. His hopes of riding in biking’s most prestigious race were derailed two years ago when he was hit by a car during a training ride in Millcreek Canyon. He was riding for U.S. Postal then, as part of the support for six-time Tour de France winner Lance Armstrong

The young American rider Zabriskie was not originally slated to race in the Tour de France, but a strong beginning to his season, including stage victories in the Giro d’ Italia and the Tour de Georgia, landed him a slot on the time trial team. Zabriskie is the 2004 U.S. time trial champion and will provide strength in the team time trial and individual time trial stages.
