“Tour Guy” here, that is my self appointed admin name for this site, my name is Brian Johnson. I was a cyclist back in the day, I competed as a Junior and a category 3 amateur rider. Nothing to write home about or special, however cycling did keep me out of trouble and I loved that it was such an underground sport at the time (mid 80’s).
I decided to give blogs a shot just several months ago, I am still learning about the platform and am already seeing the power of blogs. I also feel quite lucky in choosing “pro cycling” as a subject to blog about. The Tour de France is a perfect fit for a blog, it is held over a 3 week period complete with races results, rider reports, equipment updates, a great history and more. I decided to launch this site/blog just weeks ago and got up and running just days before the start (about June 24th).
From the looks of it other blogers are also taking to the subject and I have run into some excellent blogs, many of which are listed and linked on my right side panel. Each blogger brings in his or her own opinion about the race from their point of view, creating some interesting reading. I also wanted to create a post about these sites and blog have a look-see.
