Robbie McEwen Wins Again - Giro Report

Today is a rest day in this years Giro d’Italia, and the riders surely are preparing for the big day tomorrow when they head into Team Time Trial an event that is not often in the Giro. It seams like the Tour de France and The Giro organisers have swapped the TTT this year as it is normally found in the Tour de France in at the end of the first week, however this year their will be no TTT for the Tour.

While the race day gives the racers a chance to catch their breath it also gives us bloggers a chance to catch up, I have been busy setting up a free email service that will allow you to get email updates from the site. If you intrested in receiving news from the pro cycling circuit on a regular basis click here.

Yesterday’s stage was the last from Belgium and the riders were treated to warmer tempatures and no rain. The stage was somewhat anti climatic as is often the case early in a grand tour. Robbie McEwen was on fire once again and was able to take the stage win (two in a row for McEwen now) which has put him in the maglia ciclamino (points jersey) five points ahead of Italian Paolo Bettini who also finished second in yesterday’s stage.

Ullrich was seen wearing arm and leg warms while the rest of the peleton was in shorts sleeve jerseys and shorts, he must be trying to drop a few more pounds.
