Pearl Izumi Team Jersey Review

When I got back into cycling last summer I spent about 2k on the full package … a new trek 2100 bike with a carbon fork and stays, shoes, gloves, jerseys and a few pair of shorts. You could say that it was a bit of a mid life crises type of thing and I had the cash at the time. The sport is not cheap at all to get into when you initially purchase your bike and the basic gear.

Now that I am riding again this spring I decided to pick up a couple of new cycling jerseys as the ones I had were ok but a bit boring. In most cycling shops you will find “club” jerseys which retail for about 50 bucks and team cycling jerseys which are a bit more … closer to around 75 bucks. Generally speaking the team jerseys are much more colorful and fit a bit more snug.

First I purchased a Jittery Joes cycling jersey which is made by Louis Garneau, I bought a large and did not try it on in the store (a mistake). I found the Jittery Joes team jersey to be a bit snug around the armpits and returned the next day to my local cycle shop to exchange it. What is intresting is that I tried on an x-large and it was still too snug around my armpits (these jerseys were $75 and for that money I wanted style and comfort). I also tried on a team jersey by Pearl Izumi (in a large size) and it fit just great. Snug fit but yet comfortable, style, color and comfort

If your thinking about picking up a couple jerseys this season you might want to spring a few extra bucks, I found it worth it myself.
