Viatcheslav Ekimov, say that name 5 times fast. It is so fantastic to see “Eki” back in action, last year while training Eki took a nasty fall and broke his vertebrae which end most of the Discovery riders season including the Tour de France. What makes Eki so special, well first off were “about” the same age … the old man is nearly 40 and still very competitive. Not only that but he is an incredible riders with an impressive amount of wins.
Ekimov has participate at the Olympics three times and has taken home three medals, truly a gifted rider. This week Eki is down at the Tour of Georgia and is once again back to form and enjoying the competition. The pro cyclist plans on riding in both the Giro and the Tour de France this year …
