So that’s it folks…. I have posted twice about the doping scandal and I am sure I will post more as the tour continues. However it is time to focus on the Tour itself, the great riders and the wonderful event that is the Tour de France.
George Hicapie, like a rocket as he stormed his way to a near prologue win today less than one second behind stage winner Thor Hushovd. With the recent happenings the Tour really is wide open and George really has a chance at winning this crazy race.
For seven long years George has been their for Lance, blocking the wind, taking long tough pulls in the team time trials and protecting his friend and team leader. However now George finds himself in the position of team leader himself which leads to the question.
How will Hincapie react to this new opportunity? How much fresher will he be when the riders reach the first of two individual time trials and how well will he climb? We know the team can do the job to protect Hincapie and give him the opportunity. Will he be able to seize the moment?
Your thoughts?
