David Zabriskie & CSC Smoke Team Time Trial At Over 56 K’s Per Hour!

David Zambriskie has always enjoyed the time trials, and this spring he has showed us why. Just days ago David “Z” and the powerhouse CSC squad scorched a quick 12 kilometer team time trial on the opening day of the Italian stage race Coppi-Bartali. This early in the cycling season the stage races are usually 4 to 8 days in length and the Coppi-Bartali is no exception with 6 stages total. The race is held in honour of the cycling Italian legends Fausto Coppi and Gino Bartali.

This year it will be fun to see how team CSC performs with the recent additional of Fabian Cancellara a younger rider that is up and coming (he won the 2003 or 2004 Tour de France opening time trial and excels in that event). On the CSC website their is a picture of Cancellara with a headline“Cancellara Ready for Cobble Stones – Team CSC’s Fabian Cancellara feels ready for the oncoming classics season”.

The cycling season is starting to warm up as the spring air gives way to early summer rains and flowers! I can hardly wait!
