American cyclist Christian Vande Velde who rides for team CSC under the direction of Bjarne Riis. Christian has raced for several pro teams in the last 8 years including a stint at US Postal as well as riding for Liberty Seguros. This year the CSC rider is riding well and placed an impressive ninth overall at the Tour of California.
Other career highlights include wearing the white jersey in the 1997 edition of the Tour de France (the white jersey is worn by the youngest rider with the lowest overall time). A talented rider who has always supported his various teams with the usual domestique duties.
The CSC rider suffered a pretty nasty crash in Paris Nice this year but has none the less still managed to ride several of the spring classics including Flèche Wallonne and the Amstel Gold Race.
