Was able to get in a quick afternoon ride yesterday, while it was not as warm as it has been I was still able to wear shorts instead of tights (that is always nice in April in Minnesota). Each time I post to my “journal” I am able to note down my stats from ride. We sure did not have these great little bike computers back when I was racing / riding.
Knowing my average speed, how far I have travelled, the temperature as well as speed information is really awesome and allows me to really watch my progress (of lack their of). I am sure they are incredibly valuable to those that are competitive …. I have read in some of my cycling magazines that several of these cycling computers are even equipped with GPS and also include stats like heart rate and altitude!
Awesome stuff that must make it easier for those on a “training schedule” ….. While I felt good again while riding and as mentioned this was my longest ride so far this spring I was a bit slower than my ride last Friday. I think this was due to the wind which was kicking up pretty good. Yesterdays stats as follows:
Trip: 16.9
Time 1:12:45
Max Speed: 25.9
Average Speed: 13.9
