Lance Armstrong’s Retirement – Audio – Your Thoughts
When I first tuned in to the OLN coverage of Lance Armstrongs announcement about his retiring after this years Tour de France I felt kind of sad. Here was the man I have come to watch over the last several years as he created history and “ridden” into the Tour history books. However as the news had time to sink in it made sense to me. After all were talking about a man that has been a pro cyclist since 1992, has won the Tour de France more often than any other man in history, has beaten cancer and is the father to three kids. Surely that is a lot of “life” crammed into 13 years.
I have also thought about Lance Armstrong retiring at the hight of his success, when no other cyclist could really come even close to beating him. What a way to leave the sport, un-defeated in the sports greatest event for the past 7 years in a row (fingers crossed). Chris Boardman a former British cyclist and Olympic Gold medalist in 1992 has recorded some audio about this years tour, Lances chances of over all victory in Paris as well as retirement.
